Hurstbourne Homes for Sale
Located twelve miles southeast of downtown Louisville, the community of Hurstbourne is bounded on the west by Oxmoor Woods Parkway, on the south and east by Hurstbourne Parkway, and on the north by Shelbyville Road. Originally settled in the late 18th century, Hurstbourne began a period of growth after the completion of its namesake parkway in 1935. This growth escalated in the 1960s until, by the 1990s, much of the land was developed either as commercial or residential.
As a result of this growth, Hurstbourne is home to some of the best shopping and dining around. While Kentucky’s second and fifth largest malls (St. Matthew’s and Oxmoor Malls) are only minutes away down Shelbyville Road, Hurstbourne Parkway itself offers a plethora of shopping and eating options. From local favorites Bonefish and J. Alexander’s to the Macaroni Grill and P.F. Chang’s, one need not leave this bustling community in order to easily access an array of dining options.
But Hurstbourne Parkway is not simply a shopping and dining mecca. It also boasts both E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, which is one of the largest parks in the Louisville area, as well as Hurstbourne Country Club, which has an excellent and spacious golf course.
Homes in this esteemed area offer something for everyone. Built largely after the 1960s, these homes are often Colonial, Traditional, or Ranch-styled, though exceptions are not uncommon.
